I think it is a generational issue as Cliffy is still young compared to some gamers like my 40+ self. I've seen games evolve greatly since the early 80's variety and see no threat from games becoming more story based. As a matter of fact games like Heavy Rain excited me greatly.
To be honest I'm sure the Order would have garnered greater acclaim if it followed familiar formulas, but it wasn't the vision. It is just not Cliffy's game, just like I rarely ...

If they really hated the game, they'd should say something substantive than act like it was a source of some invisible existentialist angst.
This game is a solid 7, 8 if you don't mind the length and QTE's.
Ever watch Gone Girl...great story but the ending leaves you dangling. Pissed me off walking out of the theatre that they would end it just like that, but I bought it on DVD to show my girl. Great movie.
This review is just ridiculous. The author is more critical of the characterization and style than anything substantive to the game. At least not in any way to warrant a 4.5/10.
His summary of the game outside the graphics: "Merely competent, mediocre, or outright bad in everything else it does." He is right, it is competent not ground breaking in its gameplay. But nothing in the review suggests "BAD".
"Issues just pile up, but h...
It is funny how Gametrailers were more critical yet more positive in its review. There really isn't much information in this review, just rehashing of what we already know and baseless opinions that crux on "lame" and "boring" without much exposition.
For years I've ignored review scores and paid all my attention to the content of the review. This has been fair in my opinion.
Great story, not enough gameplay. Author echoes many sentiments but has enough sense to realize it is still an amazing game.
Exactly...! I played Killzone 2 in about 5-6 hours after my original playthrough. Some levels like the train, I just ran past Helghan without firing a shot. My first play through took me over a week. About two hours every day.
My first and last Final Fantasy, FFX, was so long it became an arduous task. Being turn based made it the definition of repetition for me. A week's time, 10-15 hours is plenty. If there are items and unlockables, great for replay. But not a ...
There have been past AAA games like God of War that were short with QTE. I just don't get where the criticisms are coming from. To me this is potentially my next Mass Effect: great cast, great story. I won't buy it until later either, but I'm excited for it just the same...!
Really? January isn't a month to be celebrating about. Hardware sales sucked for both PS4 and Xbox. The real winner was Dying Light.
Unless you are a fanboy, it's all good. DCUO was an awesome game. Planetside and H1Z1 look cool. Maybe (a big maybe) those games will come to XB1.
Sorry..."even without"
Sunset, Quantum Break, Titanfall and Scalebound...wish I had an XBox without these games, but Tenchu would be welcomed.
Which one do you think is more immmersive? Hmmm?
Just like with Kinect, the non-gaming uses for this are more promising. AR is a PS2/PS3 technology for me. But whereas Sony's attempts have been ho-hum, being paired with Kinect could make this a truly revolutionary technology.
To do so for gaming they have to overcome some of the same limitations that Kinect inherently has in being tied to the living room/TV gaming space. Namely space, lighting and the disconnect between the TV and the gamer.
Still one...
Werewolves and steampunk...that's why I'm getting it. Want innovation..? Go play a zombie game and be a hypocrite.
Most highly anticipated game at my household. They had me at dragon companions. "I'll kiss him and hug him and call him George."
I had no interest in Drive Club until they mentioned a PS+ version. I simply wanted to wait for that version until then before I made a decision because I personally haven't enjoyed many racers. I'm happy for everyone who loves the game though.
It's not trolling. Sony set that expectation and hasn't addressed since the launch went south.
I'm interested in just five: Order, HellBlade, Uncharted 5, WiLD, No Man's Sky. Along with Arkham Knight, MGS Phantom Pain and maybe Star Wars: Battlefront...my dance card is pretty full with PS4.
I think it is expectations. Gamers after a certain age expect all games to deliver the same level of experience, the same expectations Clifford has I suspect. I wonder how he felt about Heavy Rain and Ryse?
